Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...

It has been over 2 years now that i have been a diabetic and sometimes it is really hard to live with this reality.
The constant checking, keeping tight controls, being careful about eating... all it is keeping my health ok, but then it is making me stressed.
I recently experienced a panic attack by getting all worked up and worried about things.
Sometimes i feel dizzy due to side effects and medication, while other times i feel as if i am going to fall... and it takes away my confidence.
Though it has never happened i feel this shaky, light headed feeling in my brain.
The doctor told me its because i worry too much and also fill my mind with negativity. he tells me it is more related to worry and imaginary fears than anything actually wrong with my body or spine.
I keep asking doctors how long will i live... this n that. .....
Feeling very down today.....

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

Keep worrying about and it will effect you blood sugar, that is stress right on. Relax enjoy your life it's the only one you will have.
I use to do good with the A1C's but I have other problems an have to have steroids shots so for the past 3 years I have been messed up with the A1C's. Normally they run 150 - 167.
The first day after I get a shot I will get a 425-450 reading so I have to adjust my insulin accordingly each day by the time I am back to normal...I get another shot...LOL
Cheer up dear there are worse things than Diabetes, most diabetics I know are much healthier than the average person.
I had some hearts tests a few yrs ago and they turned out fine. The cardiologist sat down with me and went through all the tests showing me all the pictures on the screen. He talked about diabetes and told me not to worry. He said they keep lowering the BG numbers and that 150 used to be normal.
san2sweet....your body may be sensitive to meds, mine really is. I get all the side effects and have to always be on a real low dose of everything. If you are getting dizzy spells sometimes it helps to take really deep breaths....be sure your stomach expands to fill your lungs full, then let it out slow. This will calm you down really fast. I learned this in an exercise class where deep breathing was part of it to tighten the stomach. Good oxygen for your heart, brain and blood pressure. Take care and keep breathing deep ! =)
So, there i am....... looking forward to a fulfilling life and love from wonderful people like you. (Thumbs up)
my father was 84 when he died of heart failure, he had diabetes for many years, survived cancer and was overweight, didn't take care of himself but yet lived a great life inspite, my mother also lived a long life but died from a fall in her bathroom, so you can't think of what if
He said i was totally fine and have anxiety which makes me worry too much....
feeling fine now.
I am so sorry that this is and has been a major problem for you. I hope that you can and will learn how to lessen and then shed your anxiety so that you can feel less stressed, and optimistic about the future. I hope that you have or will surround yourself with people who are supportive and loving, who are your "shock absorbers" so to speak, and can help you to have fun and joy-- help provide stress-busters.
One of the things you might wish to consider is to learn about, practice, and utilize Mindfulness. It is what the most skilled Buddhist monks use for meditation. It is so effective that when brain scientists studied them-- used brain imagining to study their brains in real time, and saw and documented that they could hear gunshots, tire screeches, other loud sounds that signal danger, their brains did not automatically signal the fight-flight-freeze reaction that was considered to be automatic. Mindfulness allows one to think thoughts that produce anxiety/fear/other unpleasant emotions, stay in the present to examine in one's own body and experience the effect those thoughts have and where (i.e. butterflies in the stomach, muscles tensing, jaw clenching, heart racing, etc..), let the thoughts "be" without trying to fight them or distract oneself, and instead, allow them to stay until they drift out of the back-door of the mind. Allowing thoughts to come in, stay, focusing on the bodily reaction, and letting thoughts drift out, over and over... all the while consciously engaging in deep, slow breathing. I have found (for myself, and using this with my clients-- many of whom are children or teens), that if and when we practice regularly and frequently during the day, and not just when we are anxious or stressed, this becomes more automatic when we NEED to call upon it because we ARE stressed. I have treated kids with phobias and they are able to move past them. Its great to see a child or adult suffering, who gets tremendous relief and can then focus on gratitude, joy, and goals. Maybe it could help you, if you are willing to do a little research and practice. Its free-- one does not need a therapist or medications or to buy anything in order to learn and utilize this strategy. And it is another wonderful bit of knowledge to be able to pass along.
Peace to you!

It is so difficult to explain this to people but at the same time it is a reality.... People sometimes even label me as lazy......lol......
But in reality i am just to anxious to do anything.
Anyways thanks :) Love to you.
My mother is a worry wart.. She worries about everything.. Here's what I tell her...
Is worrying helping solve the problem you worry about? Of course the answer is no.
Is worrying giving you ideas to help your problem? Of course the answer is no..
Worry is really no good. It's no good on our minds or our bodies and it certainly doesn't do any good for our spirit.
What do you do instead? Think.. NOT WORRY. There is a difference. Think things through. Whatever is worrying you take control over it. Think it all the way through to the finish. If it's your blood sugar numbers, then thoughts start with the bad things that happen IF your numbers are out of control.. If your numbers are good then it starts with what have I been doing right? What can I do a little better. What will the results be when I do these things a little better? Then you just put those THOUGHTS to action.
I realize that worry isn't always a choice (except in reality it is a choice).... It doesn't FEEL like a choice.. So when worry is overcoming your ability to control your thoughts then you CALL A FRIEND or go do something that takes your mind off your worries.. whatever that may be.. For me the one thing that totally clears my mind of ANY thought or worry is mowing. I know it sounds CRAZY but that is what works for me. Although I can't mow just quite yet since the HA.. For others it may be music, reading, vegging out on tv.. Taking a walk, hike or doing something artsy.
Figure out what works for you and just do it when you feel that you can't control the worry. For a worry wart being on the support groups may not be the best all the time.. There are good things here but there are also plenty of things that could make a worrier worry even more. Hope that made sense. For me coming here eases my worries. But for others it could be a trigger.
Either way I hope you get your worry under control.. Worry is stress and stress is hard on diabetes, the heart, the soul and so much more..
If that's you in your picture you have an awesome smile and hate to think worry could steal even a second of that smile from you. :)
