The Lab work, they all do different, My Doc gives me the orders and tells me, a week before my next appt get it done and then we talk about the results. This also you need to talk with your Doctor..you pay him for his services, so you have the right to set some rules yourself..my Doc told me once...thanks for helping me with your care, I remind him..your Doc sees a lot of people he can't remember everything..so help him out.
From what you say..sounds like you are doing great, but then I am not a Doc...Do you go to an Endocrinologist?
The ADA reccomendations for BS numbers are 70-120 fasting. I have my lab work done on the day of my appointment. The lab is in my doctor's office. He likes to do it that way because if something comes up during the appointment I don't have to go for a second draw. If he is concerned about something on the day he has them run them before I leave. Otherwise I have the results mailed to me when they are done. I've heard that the dash diet is a good one, but I have never tried it myself.
