Last night I used my old meter first and got an 8.2 reading then tried my new one and got a 7.4.

This morning I used both again and got 6.3 on the old and 7.3 on the new...same finger same spot for blood droplet. Does this just mean the old is just not working properly anymore or what?

Hmm I am curious. Does it matter where you test (which finger where on the finger etc) if you are going to test more than once. My stupid calculator I tested 4 times and got for diff numbers ranging from 78 to 134. It was very frustrating >.<
You might take them in and see which one matches up with the one that the doctor is using. Hopefully theirs if right lol.

This morning was the same finger and same blood drop, last night was 2 separate fingers and different hands.

I'm just hoping the old one is just no good. Is there another way to test if it's any good other than going to the Dr.?

every meter will give you different readings, stick to one style and use that, you will do fine. some are more accurate than others based on what the doctor will get you at...basically I use as a guideline as to how I am doing and how the food is reacting in my body

Yes there will be some variation between meters. If you feel in yourself that the reading is correct and is what you expected then just go with it. 1-2 mmols difference is probably OK.

Also, just checked the tolerance on my soon to be retired Advantage...5 points either way.
