Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I have a question for you...are you eating enough fiber and protein? You need protein to keep yourbody going.
I eat a lot of chicken now.
I do eat considerably less meat then I use to before I was diagnosed.
I also use to eat a lot more cow , however , I was told not to eat red meat because of my overie. I don't really understand that but sense I have stopped my issue with my overy has lessened. So I maybe have red meat once or twice a month at the most.
There are other ways to get protein that animal meat.
Hope you can get in with a good diabetic dietitian.
unless you are like me and get the hyper thyroid (graves disease) that makes you like the energizer bunny and then you crash lol
