Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...

When I read your opening sentences I had to make sure which group I was in. It didn't sound like diabetes to me.
What have you tried to help you w/the fatigue? Do you think your sleep troubles have to do w/diabetes or is another illness troubling you?
I wonder if you may have some kind of low-grade infection that is pulling you down. How is your appetite, and how long since you saw a doc and had any blood work done?
Sorry to ask so many questions! For me, if I can't stick to a pretty normal sleep schedule, all bets are off...so I would try to find out what's causing the fatigue first.
Best,
-FM
Have you tried taking someone with you to your doctor? I bring my husband, even though he hardly says a word. Like a big stuffed animal ;-)
I didn't answer your apatite question. I'm a binge and starve eater. My apatite is not hungry to very hungry. Its a roller coaster. But I am working on it.
TQ Sue
I don't think it sounds like diabetes either.
Circulation could be the problem in your legs but you can be tested for that to find out why they hurt you.
Not sleeping is hell. I have not been sleeping properly either and it makes for a long day.
when i was dealing with pain, not, sleeping and still trying to do thething iam suppose to still do to help with my condition. iwas have the same results as you. i agree that you might have a low grade infection, as well as your blood sugar ARE TO LOW. that can make you feel ill just as your bloodsugar being to high.
also my Dr told me that most people with our condition also go through depression. that why it so important to exercise get sun light because it help with depression. My dr also put on vit/D it helped tremindously. hopes this info helps you
It makes me so depressed cause i am not that old yet I can not do half the things folks my age do.
I have gotten better I was using a walker and they were ready to put me in a wheel chair i finally agreed to take pain meds(i am a recovering addict and was trying not to take them) and it has helped.
Now lately I have been battling my sugar and depression which i deal with at this time of year and well that makes it even worse
I am however determined to get up and get out and get it done
Sometimes i just have to put my headphones on play me some good gospel with a good beat and get out with the dog and just walk as much as i can stopping to break when my legs and back hurt real bad and then move some more
or open all the shades turn on the music and clean the house (great exercise)
Soon the spring will be here and it will at least be better we can go out and do more.
I would make sure that the doctor does a thorough blood tests and write down everything and share it with him when you go in If he will not listen or help than Yep it is time to change Doctors.
Good Luck and know we are here for you
Sorry you are going through all that you are. A change in docs might help also, however trying to find a good one these days is difficult. If possible, go on line and research docs in your area through the various md rating boards, might help in your look.
Take care, you will get through this.
If your doctor isn't listening to you, it is definitely important to go for another opinion. See a specialist if you can. Like an endocrinologist.
Keep us posted. :)
