Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
One thing, I posted on another thread, if your numbers are good, and you gain or don't lose, your body is storing fat. You have to get your body to feed off the fat you have stored.
Low sugars mean weigh gain. Some times we watch what we eat, then we binge, so our bodies store fat so in case you don't eat, it will have the stored fat to fed off of.
Have you tried the 1100 or 1200 calorie a day diet?
It is better to try and fail than not to try at all.
Also we can come up with answers more personal on an individual basis.
come here to read the article,
cutting calories also will help since the body needs carbs to survive and if too low the body will store fat as Granny says
If a person has a slow metabolism due to illness----the body is going to burn up fat and calories a lot slower then normal. The metabolism makes a HUGE difference. I have seen people that could eat a lot of food and are not that active but never gain a pound. So it has to be their metabolism that is making the difference.
Yuk----too complicated to figure out for sure......I have just cut down on most foods high in calories. That is what worked for me before.
Here is an example if carb OK and calorie NO. Cheese
I love cheese, it is a very low if none existing carb, but high in calories.
You cannot remove all carbs from you diet. In doing so, your liver will start pouring fat into your blood, which is a big no.no.
I know people do not like me making this recommendation, but I learned so much about diabetes from this book. It was written in first person, and down to earth, explains everything. At least it saved my life. If I had not come a across it I would not be a controlled diabetic. Ilearned tthings my doctor nor dietician would tell me. The name of the book is, "Think Like A Pancreas". Please check it out, it will help.
And yes that is my Sassi, so funny we both have a Sassi/Sassy. Yours is very cute as well. I just love poms.
