Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
The numbers don't seem bad but that waking up hot and hungry doesn't sound good and that 80 is questionable at that time in the wee hours. Have you mentioned this to your Doctor?
I too suffer the morning effect, but my numbers are the same as yours and my doctor said it was fine......there are others with much higher....like over 200.
The regular hours for eating cause me problems too. I found granola bars too high in carbs unless you use it to replace a meal.....not very substantial though. I found the Atkins bars (they are in the pharmacy section) to be the best. I find the Oatmeal cinnamon bars to hold my numbers steady the best and they are yummy :)
I found myself in crisis tonight and immediately ate two cuties and a spoonful of peanut butter...lol. I guess you just do what you have to under the circumstances. If I had been in my right mind I would have just eaten the peanut butter with some wheat crackers.
Good thing you are going to your doctor in the morning....good luck :)
Thank you all for your help.
