Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
That said, what are you blood sugars lately? Also, do you have any urine sticks where you can check for protein in your urine? Sometimes ketosis will cause this effect.
Yes, definitely check for ketosis (protein in urine). Are you on a very calorie-restricted diet? Does your urine have any strange odor?
Lots of people seem to have this problem and no-one (on my little romp around the internet) was sure of the cause. Medication is another possibility...antihistamines, antibiotics and anti-depressives can give you dry-mouth/strange tastes.
You may get some relief by chewing sugarless gum to stimulate your salivary glands, hopefully flushing away the sweet taste. (Does the taste come with dry-mouth?)
Stay hydrated, whatever else you do.

Ive managed to lose an amazing 5 stone in 5 months which some tell me is too much too quick, but since coming out of hospital I have been somewhat traumatised by what happened while I was there.
Im trying desperately to keep the weight lkost going but I think I need to slow things down, but am determenined to acheive this one thing thats like the elusive butterfly.....
its one step fprward and two steps back at times for me and it really gets to me alot.
dying to be thin syndrome I guess.
In short, I have attributed this and other health maladies to my dental work - increase in headaches, and dizziness, etc. I plan to have my dental work replaced with composite materials after I save some money.
But Im one of there people that like to see a result for all my giving up chocolate and cakes....
Its hard anyway to lose the weight with diabetes, what with things you are limited to being able to eat,but cannot go for a walk as I rarely go out.
I have nerve damage in my foot that is a club foot anyway,so exercise is limited too.
But I have managed to lose 70lbs since last August, and keep it off but its now slowing down, which depresses me so much.
Tempted to starve myself, but know its foolish to even try,but have managed to alter some of my bad eating habits, cutting out fat has had a dramatic effect.
Who said being healthy was easy...?
Roll on the magic pill the makes it all go away.....
