Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
You need balanced food such as protein, veggie, fruit, and whole grains. You also need to eat about every 2-3 hours to keep your sugars level. The best you can do is keep some sort of food with you at all times. I keep Fiber One bars with me in my purse and car. I also have glucose tablets in my purse and if it's not convenient to eat the snack I grab 2-4 tablets (you can buy them in the pharmacy area of any store).
The best thing you can and need to do is eat every 3 hours which I know can be a problem....but it is the best solution to your situation.
Add more fiber and you wont get hungry so quickly, for example, if you grab fruit....grab a Pear.
You can not just grab and run thru your meals, you need to take the time and eat properly if you want to keep control
