Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I ate a bit of dry fruits the other day..walnuts...pistachios...almonds etc...
Maybe that has something to d with it. Thankfully its sorted out now and I don't have to increase my oral medicine dosage.
wow...........we really need to understand our bodies better
My opinion is to not worry unless it becomes chronic for about 3 weeks. It doesn't hurt to call the doctor if you are concerned before 3 weeks and perhaps they can help you if they feel it is a real problem or not.
I agree that nuts should not be the culprit. However....dried fruit....that's a whole other ballgame. It's a constant game of trial and error to see what and how different foods effect you.
My mom and I are both diabetics and she eats everything and uses portion control (most of the time) and her sugars are under control. However, I can not eat the usual diabetic no no foods (white flour, white rice, pasta, soda, or fried foods.....and ice cream) as I get very sick and unable to function.
It was my birthday yesterday and my friends ordered me a huge birthday dessert at the restaurant.. I had already ate my total carb count and could only stare at this masterpiece. I took two small......REALLY small bites to avoid seeming rude and I still felt ill....had to come home and take a home remedy to get my sugars to come down from two VERY SMALL bites :(
I'm glad to see that your sugars are back in range. Could have been fighting off an infection or sickness of sorts as others have mentioned.
