My hubby on the other hand had a huge addiction to diet soft drinks! UGGHH....since I didn't buy it regularly, he would stop and get one every morning at McD's. He is not a coffee drinker, so that was his morning 'fix". It wasn't until he was dx last year with HCV that he was able to break the habit.
Sodas are awful for us. They don't really quench thirst because of all the sugar in them, they are loaded with chemicals, they dehydrate, they cause gas, the artificial sweeteners are highly toxic to our systems. The list is endless as to why we shouldn't drink it. It is amazing that it ever got passed as a food product in the first place!
Ok,....coming off my soapbox now! LOL
