My skin always dries more and is flakier in winter. This season has been worse and I am hoping it is just the temp extremes we are having..[.like 70 today and 55 tomorrow]. I am having more episodes with not being able to hydrate my hands sufficiently...even when washing dishes with gloves..Have to put lotion and cream on several times within an hour before the relief lasts a while.Feet are drier and both hands and feet are a bit more sensitive (tender feeling) . Is it that my water consumption needs to be increased? I have been slacking. I use Skin So Soft lotion, Johnson''s Baby Lotion, or St. Ives Silken Mist (I think that''s the name). I have added Vitamin E cream (WM brand) and sometimes use mineral oil or vaseline on my arms or legs. Thanks for any comments. Oh, this is my second winter with diabetes.
I have heard, People with high glucose levels tend to have dry skin and less ability to fend off harmful bacteria.
If you go to the store, there are so many to pick from that it can become over whelming at times. They have some for extra dry skin.
I have a really hard time keeping my elbows hydrated. Had a problem with my eyelids peeling....WTH????
I feel like a prune!!!! LOL
I guess drinking more water wouldn't hurt!
