I ask as it is never safe to just stop taking some medications and in some cases can cause serious illness.
Do you test regularly your blood glucose?
what are your fasting blood glucose?
You may need to try a long acting insulin like levimer.
As far as healthy eating drinking lots of water, cutting any processed foods or sugars as much as you can. Adding lots of veggies are all helpful but sometimes sadly as a diabetic even with eating right and exercising you need to take medications too.
Have you taken a diabetes class?
how long ago were you diagnosed with Diabetes?
check with a local Hospital or health Department to see if one is offered in your area When i went they gave us books(that we got to keep) and covered all the possibly medication types and kinds and it was a huge help for me
.
They also had a nutritionist and a physicians assistant who specialized in diabetes and they spoke to each person privately to help them with their individual issues which would be ideal for your situation.
