Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
From what it looks he doesnt seem to be diabetic
Some doctors will blow him off at this point, saying he is doing fine. Please encourage him to see a doctor and a nutritionist for an occasional visit, who will encourage him and teach him how to manage his "disease," even if he has not been diagnosed with diabetes yet. Perhaps with proper care, he will never develop actual diabetes. That I can't say. Good luck to you both.
Is that true?? I had Gestational Diabetes while pregnant. Women with that condition often DO RECOVER after the birth. The risk of developing Type 2 is greater among those women.
I am considered pre-diabetic because of slightly elevated fasting blood sugar readings. Am also older, overweight, and there is a family history of diabetes. I am trying to avoid progressing into a diabetic diagnosis.
My endo says it can't even be reversed as you have read on the internet etc but logically it is the pancreas that affects all this and if that doesn't work properly, the diabetes is there.
