Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...

Sorry for my poor grammar and my rant. I should have calm down before I posted. Please do forgive me. I also ment I've only had diabetes for 4 years!...wish I could delete post and start over. I hope some of it makes a little sense.

linda, it may have nothing to do with diabetes. If you stand on your feet for long periods of time it might be plantar fascias. Very common and very painful. I had it in both feet and it felt like I was walking on sharp pieces of glass. Check with your doctor. And stay calm.

Linda, I think Willowangel said it great. I think you should go to a foot doctor and see if it is possible you have something besides neuropathy. I am in awe of you; your numbers are great. But if you are on your feet at work so many hours, that may be your problem.

If your Doc suspects you have Neuropathy he will send you to a neurologist and then you can get treated for it or rule it out and seek another avenue.

do get it checked out by doctor, as others say, this would be something else, and they can check for neuropathy to be sure

Willowangle, I do have plantar fascias. But usually when I changed or get new shoes, all is good. I will be going to my Dr really soon to find out what is going on, so I can relax a little. Too much going on for me right now! But I need answers. Thanks to all who replied, it helps out a lot. That's why I love this board. People do care and are willing to help each other. Will keep all of you posted!

Your back might have something to do with your leg pain as well. It would be strange for you to have diabetic neuropathy if your sugar levels are under control. But it is not out of the realm of possibility. I know that your bulging disk can have something to do with it. If you want some really good advice on what might be causing your problem, you can come on over to the chronic pain room. I also frequent that room as I have a lot of pain in my right leg stemming from a blood clot three years ago. Any how, I hope you feel better soon. Hugs!
