I'm sorry if this is long but I'm in a situation with my doctors that I am not happy about. In April I went to my GP because I had had nausea and vomiting and a 20 lb weight loss in the past 2 weeks. He ran blood work and diagnosed type 2 diabetes. I know that I had just developed it because my psychiatrist watches my blood sugar very closely due to meds I am on. But my GP and the Gastro he sent me to both blame neuropathy for the nausea and vomiting and the numbness in my right hand which also developed at the same time. I was told that in order to control it I needed to get my blood sugar under control. I brought my A1c from 10.8 down to 7.5 and the nausea and vomiting are still present and the numbness is quickly taking over my right hand. From all the research I've done neuropathy doesn't develop right away but after YEARS of uncontrolled blood sugar. How on earth can they claim that I have 2 very rare types of neuropathy that developed at the moment the diabetes started? I need to go see another doctor but I have no idea what kind to see. Does anyone have any advice for me? Help!
That vomiting sounds like tummy problems maybe let a gastroenterologist take a look at that.
High blood sugar cause a lot of problems. Yes, neuropathy gets worse, at least mine has.
Have you been tested by a Neurologist? He for sure can pin point neuropathy.
