Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...

The Relion meter has an alert when it is low.
You just ate to good...LOL
Meters usually have some way of calibrating them, check the manual for instructions.
all meters are guaranteed to be within a set guideline for testing, take your meter to the doctor's and have them test you with theirs(they have special type to be almost within a few points) and then you test also. this way you will get an idea of how accurate you are with the doctor. I do this once a year with my doctor or when I get a new meter. If we are way off, she will tell me not to use that meter and I have been pretty close to hers.
stick to a set time frame of testing (2 hr after etc) and forget what your body is doing in between
thanks again

Im fairly new to the diagnoses of diabetes. For me at this point i only eat whole grain low cal bread, i would love a croissant but im to chicken, i wont go near anything made with white flour anymore. I also have a Reli on (Ultima) meter from walmart. My nutritionist told me today im pretty strict with my diet, and im prepared to be that way the rest of my life, for me its not a option.
