Have you tried just diet and exercise to see if you can control? Many can and do maintain with diet and exercise for years.
But do talk with your doctor, tell her you want to try by diet and exercise since you are having too many side effects
Was hoping the metformin would do the trick. I refuse to do insulin. Diet is good. Am going to raise the metformin daily to see if it helps.
500mg metformin left me feeling awful, stomach cramps and diarrhea. I can't imagine how bad you felt on 1000mg.
Get another opinion please.
