Several studies are showing how metformin promotes weight loss in patients with obesity with non- insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
The mechanism may be attributed to decreased food intake.
From my personal experience I can say that metformin helped me to curb my appetite the first year reducing my weight considerably. But I have to mention the fact that for that year I was on a very strict low carb diet.
I lost 70 pounds!
Metformin appears to be dose dependent when it shows this weight lose effects.
What I noticed, in these 10 years using it, it is that metformin lose its effects after a couple of years if you not increase the dosage.
