How do we calibrate our meters, so they are accurate. My didnt come with the instructions on how to do that. I believe it takes the contour strips.

A new meter should come with a type of quality control. Where you have a small bottle of stuff you test your strip with to see if it reads either high for one and low for the second.
If this is a used meter I would ask the pharmacy when you purchase the test strips. Otherwise I don't know. Sorry:)

as lindarob said you can get a control fluid that you can use. Your meter manual should tell you how to do this...this is to make sure your test strips are good.

You can take your meter with you to the doctors the next time you go and ask them to test you with theirs and then you test with yours. This way you can see how much of a difference your meter shows versus the doctors. I do this once a year with mine. I just bought a new one and there was only 6 points difference between doctor and mine (doctor was the higher one)
