Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
Maybe add some weight training along with your exercise
If you are under control--not close to it or better than before--but actually normal, then you are doing what you need to do with your diet and exercise. If the readings are high still, eat less and walk the dog more. And that has been my strategy.
It has been four months for me since the diagnosis. I use Myfitnesspal.com to track food and exercise. For the last two weeks I have had morning readings below 120. Less important is the fact that I have lost 20 pounds. I am still another 20 pounds from a normal BMI, but that is not the goal. It is all about the BG level.
Know what is frusterating me the most? DO YOU?!?!?
My wife is only 110 pounds. I have to loose TWICE HER WEIGHT TOTAL.............

/sigh
My #'s are very good lately, and that does please me, hopefully they stay this way and I start to notice a big difference. Hey Sugar, I wish I could forget the scale, I'm trying but it's just to hard.
Thanks for the help everyone.
don't weigh every day, that can be frustrating...I watch my hubby finally trying to lose weight and he is counting all calories, writes it all down, and he is getting results finally and doing well and I have talked him out of checking every day since that was making him frustrated...
Hey Sugar?? will U be kind enuff to share how ur losing weight??
God Bless
I'm actually, (well, at my heaviest,) 4x my wife's weight. So I have to loose 2x her weight and still be 2x her weight...or so.
