One of my big challenges is finding something good to eat for breakfast. I generally don\'t have time to cook, so a more grab and go would be best for me. What do you eat for breakfast?!
I didn't gain weight but I lost 30 lbs. I like the way I look now because I weighed 203 lbs when diabetes was diagnosed and now I weigh 129. I did it with meds, diet, and by taking 20 minute walks around my neighborhood once a day.
I am "Morning Impaired". I can't get up and jump right into things. I move very slowly. Once I do start moving, I get ravenously hungry very quickly and end up "drinking" my breakfast. It usually consists of OJ, Milk, and Hot Tea. Most of the hot cereals gag me and I just don't like eggs. Bagels and the like taste like cardboard. Cold cereals work sometimes.
As good as Lantus is, I am opting for an insulin pump in April, this way I'll be able to eliminate fingersticks and self injections altogether. The pump does it all! (: If your only insurance is Medicare or Medicaid, an insulin pump is not covered. I am doing mine by private pay.
