Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
You are very patient, I would have left her long before now. As far as your meter goes..if you use the same one all the time..you adjust to those readings. I have two different meters and they never read the same..
I finally got insurance this past February and changed doctors immediately......boy.....am I glad I did. It has made all the difference in the world.
I know it is hard to find a new doctor, educator, dietitian when you have a crazy schedule.....but just do it.
Congrats on lowering your numbers.....I know you were struggling.
Keep up the good work and yes....you do know your body better than any one.
I like you know when I am low. I get really shaky and tired and feel completely drained of everything. I can also tell when I am high. I get very grumpy (that's putting it nicely) and nothing seems to be going my way.
I also think you should find another person to go to. They are supposed to be there to help you not degrade you.
Thank you all.
We listen to our bodies and that is the most important thing to remember and then we can act accordingly, do we sometimes get thrown for a loop sure, but then even then we can figure it out. And the meters we use are for a guide line to give us an idea and if a good meter they usually are not that far off from the doctor's several hundred dollars or more piece of equipment. I think the goal for the meter companies is to be within 5% of the doctors.
I am getting now where I can tell when my thyroid numbers are acting up, just by my morning blood pressure lol...
so listen to your body, go by your gut feelings, you usually are not wrong if you pay attention and in time as you go along in this journey you will get better at learning what your body is telling you
