Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I have not been able to take/find any medication that I don't react to.
Metformin is the worst one for me and the only way I can now control my levels is to take insulin as diet and exercise was no longer working for me.
In some other cases the people could be on the maximum dose/s and therefore go on insulin either in conjunction with meds or alone in order to get their sugar levels down.
Normally a doctor will start a new T2 diabetic on diet and exercise and then go from there to get the levels down. The one they usually use to start with is metformin.
