If you are prone to the dawn effect, then maintaining all the time under 100 fasting might be a problem...this issue is like beating a dead horse. Even after 16 years I still have some high morning numbers and it had nothing to do with my diet/eating habits.
So anyhoo, since you have had very good numbers in the past, you can do it again. Are you on meds?

The damage would be unmeasurable, its those 300s, month in, month out that are the killers - IMO.

My morning readings are high, average about 160....the dawn phenomena.
My hunsband wanted to go out for stickey fingers (chicken with spicy sweet sauce) I had to make sure I kept my portion low and had extra free stuff like veggies (not corn,carrotts, or peas)
