I do at times, and it seems to be related to if my sugar level is up. Of course I do have weight on me, but was told by a diabetes nurse it could happen if the diabetes was going on for quite some time before the diagnosis and now is a side effect. I where a pad everyday,its embarassing to have to buy them but its reality and I don't want to have any more problems in front of anyone. Good luck.

But you say it's the meds doing it, not the high BS? If that's the case, I'd talk about changing to different meds, pronto! If not, your best answer is to get the BS down and keep it down. Give the body and chance to heal and rebuild itself. I would also strongly recommend getting a Kegel exercise gadget and using it 3x daily to rebuild the pelvic floor muscles. That should give you a lot more control.

The medicine works for the sugar, but it does go off from when I get sick. The weight is from another med. I have no choice but to take which keeps the weight on and probabley adds to the bladder problems. I was on a bladder pill that helped but it was seriously bothering my stomach. Donnab- ask a urologist about maybe taking a pill for overactive bladder, I can't remember now which one I took but it did help, except for the stomach problems. Good luck.

i have this problem also I don't know why I never thought of my diabetes meds anyway I take oxybutynin cloride its the generic for all the other meds like difulcan and detrol I even tried a patch.They help pretty good but not 100%

rashaw, that patch is it for the bladder problem ? Does it come with any side effects, because I like to find another kind of medicine that would help my bladder. I'm not aware of diabetes meds. causing bladder problems, or at least I wasn't told that.

The patch is called oxytrol patch Its only side effect for me is dry mouth.But they all do that to you.I have a reaction to adheasive on bandaides and tape and stuff so I got off it.You wear it for three or four days and then change it so you wear 2 a week pretty easy they don,t fall off even in the shower. good luck

I don't take anything for the Diabetes; but I do take alot of meds. for other problems. I too have to wear a pad every day. Until now; I've never given it much thought; I just thought it was because of my age. Now I'm wondering. Any how----I don't know how much help this is, so good luck to you. :) :)

It turned out to be a bladder infection. It was so bad that I was losing a lot of fluid and was very weak and had to go to the hospital. I was discharged yesterday and have to take antibotic pills for 10 days. Has anyone else had this trouble?

I never had that happen to me with a bladder infection. I hope you are feeling better. Usually when I get one, I feel tired, pain in bladder and frequent trips to the b.room. That had to be one of the worst cases I ever heard of. They say if you drink cranberry juice its suppose to head off a bladder infection. Or anything with cranberries in it.

I wear a pad every day. Just something no one told me about as I get older - that I would be helping keep the pad company in business long after I didn't need them for the monthly period.
I think I need a sling for my problem. I am on another group and some of them have had this. It is the urinary incontinence.
I think I had this before the diabetic medication. I never connected the two.

I know people have this problem who are much younger then I am. My ex-son-in-law has had to take shots since he was diagnosed at the age of 2 with diabetics I I have II.
It just seemed after I became older I qualifed for the bipolar group, obese group, Urinary incontinence, sleep apnea, IBS. I am on all of those groups on here.
Makes me feel like my body is falling apart. Some of this started with the obesity although slim people can have these problems too.

Ann, when I read your reply I thought my goodness its like reading my profile on this daily strength. Yeah I wish I had bought stock in the pads company years ago, I'd be rolling in the dough now. And I'm still at that age where I have the monthly thing too. I heard too that some drs. can go in and put 2 stitches inside of a person near the opening of the bladder to help with the incontinence. They said they could do that for me but I held off, now I wish I did it. My deductible for any procedure goes up each yr. I think my problem is not only the weight but something with the sugar when it goes up seems to trigger a weakness in me that affects all of me.
