Hello all. I do not have diabetes but my boyfriend does. I was just wondering if any of you has diabetes that no doctor can get under control. His blood sugar level shoots from anywhere between 29 and 350. Any comment would be helpful.. Thank you.

Does he see an endocronologist?
What kind of medicine is he taking?

I don't know if he sees an endocronologist. I know he injects insulin 4 times a dy unlike his twin who only takes a pill a day. It seems unfair.

I know it seems unfair, but life is unfair at times. I myself use insulin 3 times a day plus take metformin and actos. I have a hard time controlling my sugar because I also have MS and that makes it hard. Right now I am in a flare up and am on steroids which causes my sugar to go high. If he doesnt see an endocronologist, I would highly sugguest he see one.
I also have a twin sister and she is on pills only, which i am happy for her.

Wildly bouncing blood sugars are often the result of overtreating the highs and lows. Let me recommend "Dr. Neal Barnard's Program For Reversing Diabetes;" it helped me more than my endocrinologist with that problem.

If his twin is an identical twin, I suggest you find out what the two of them are doing differently!
