Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
You not only need to watch what you eat and how much exercise you need to be a detective as well.
Glad to see you and welcome, just jump right on in
I was diagnosed with type 2 a year and a half ago and I too took control immediately (I too saw what my relatives went through).
I've kept a positive attitude and humor to maintain this weird disease.
It has taken a few twists as Mzgayle and grannie mentioned, but it has always returned to a good range with my persistence.
I agree with phredrick that a good health care team is really important.
My first doctor was terrible, so I fired her and moved on to a better doctor. It was so nice to have a professional on my side....it made all the difference in the world and easier to talk about my concerns in a more relaxed atmosphere. I'm no longer afraid to go to my regular visits or ask questions.
Thanx for sharing and welcome to our little group :)
