Does anyone have problems getting blood out of there fingers to check there sugar. I work at a hospital and have tried some of the tricks they tell me, but my fingers get so tired of being stuck a minimum of 4x a day. Anyone else having this problem?

have you tried warming your hands first? or is it possible you don't have the lancet set on the right setting?

click on my avatar to go to my personal profile and then in my pictures I have a picture of testing on your fingers - top side between the top knuckle to the second knuckle off to the sides. I don't have sore fingers now nor little black spots of dried blood using this way.

I was having that problem. I set the lancet on 4 or 3 and I was my hand with warm water because I'm not using alcohol and its like massaging the fingers. dry and prick. try massaging the blood up the fingers and then stick

Since I have been diagnosed with type 2 and thyroid issues it seems that I need to put my finger in a vice to get blood out of it. My hands are always like ice with little blood flow. This has me sticking my finger harder then most people do. Ouch! The thyroid condition adds to the problem.

I rub my finger first. this brings the blood to the surface.
You can also wash your hands in warm water before you test. This will also bring the blood to the surface.
I have not had a lot of luck wit "Alternate site" but the heal of your hand is suppose to be good.
