Has anyone been to a Diabetes Fair? I am going to one soon.
It's an all day affair so should be interesting. I'll tell you more about it later after I've attend it, however, they said they are having 2 workshops. One is about exercising using a stretch band, I think, and also a workshop on the Glucose meter. I think we get a free meter too. I have a meter which I've had for a whlle, but they are always coming out with new ones.
There is also a speaker on the theme, Not all Fats are Created equal.
A free lunch is provided and each attende receives a fee sample bag.

They had a demonstrationion on exercises with a latex band which they also gave to you. Also a demostration on a new metre which was free if you wanted one. It can be set up to read on the computer..
The last speaker was the nutritionist on food, etc and then a Diabetic Jeopardy game. We were also given a free lunch of soup, sandwich, veggies and dessert and at registration we were given a energy bar and refreshments.
It was the first time for this fair and they hope to have it again next year. It was put on the Diabetic Centre from the hospital in our area.
I learned a lot of things but it's too long to put down here. If you have any questions, maybe I can answer them..
IMO, there is nothing as good as having and walking the dogs..a double win situation..
