He suggests people test themselves with and without coffee to see what is happening with BS levels. Apparently, some people may have adverse effects while others might have sufficient tolerance to enjoy a black coffee or two in the morning.
I have not done the testing however. First, I don't know how to get by without it for even one day. And second, as long as my numbers are going down, I don't think I want to face the choice of having to give up yet another pleasure. If you do it, I would be curious to know the results.
Sassi- not sure if one is more so than the other, but if curious do as heysugar said, just have a cup and then test yourself say 1/2 hr or so after and see if numbers begin to rise...of course if you eat something with the coffee, then you won't be able to tell if coffee or not
I also use the Silk unsweeted Almond milk too. I use 8-ounces spread out with the 2 or 3 cups fo coffee. For 8-ounces the Silk Unsweetend Almond Milk has 1 carb and 35 calories. I like using the sugar free, carb free liquid coffee syrup with the almond milk. I get the sugar free syrup at walmarts in the coffee isle. I get the almond milk at walmarts in the milk section.
I have been reading about the coffee I think they are saying not to drink a pot of coffee. Some people drink coffee all day long in place of water.
It said it is the caffeine that will raise your BS. I read that the caffeine will raise your BS if you have to much of it from anything that has it.
So I just drank my 2 to 3 cups in the morning and if I have a Sugar free soda or tea I make sure it is caffieine free for the rest of the day. This works for me
