Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I would think that would be just fine. From what my dietician said that would be perfect for a snack, about 20 carbs. Or if you are having it with a meal my dietician would say I could have about another 25 carbs to go with that.
I know everyone is different as to how they handle carbs. I would say it would be okay. My advice would be to test before you eat it. Go ahead and add your strawberries. Then test 2 hours later and see how it affects you :)
The papers I have from the diabetes clinic I went to say,
Acceptable range with diabetes after eating 9.0-10.0.
Optimal range with diabetes 7.2-8
Does this sound about right? I should have gotten this back out long ago, I've been trying to get mine to under 7 at all times.
Hope that helps. I'm sure that you can type into google 130 mg to "whatever units you are using"
:)
