Hey everyone, I just started taking byetta a week ago and i'm having a lot of side effects. I don't know if it is because of the medicine or because I'm not eating much. The byetta makes me lose all desire to eat. I never feel hungry. When I do eat I vomit. I am starting to feel weak and break out into cold sweats. I'm pretty sure my blood sugar is way too low, but a I keep down anything including juice. Any help.

I was on byetta for a month and I couldn't take it anymore! The swollen abdomen, the throwing up and the general feeling of being so sick was more than I could take. Yes you feel full and lose weight however I wonder what will happen now that I have stopped? I am feeling a little better each day but will I gain the weight back? probably. Good luck to you.

I have lost 65 lbs on Byetta. I hope like H$%#
i don't gain it back. You MUST eat within a half an hour of taking the shot or you will get nausea and maybe vomitting. try the pregnancy Rx for nausea, even if it isn't the greatest for Blood sugar-salteens or toast. Better yet time you shot as I do to be no more than a half hour before the meal.

I start taking this medicine today myself. I'm hoping for no side effects. I rarely get side effects on medicines but my doctor said this one has strong nausea effects.
