Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I was advised to test 2 hours after eating and my numbers should be 160 or under.
Every doctor has different guidelines for their patients.
My doctor wants my morning fasting numbers to be under 200.
It is hard for me as I have the 'dawn effect" which means my fasting numbers tend to run a bit higher (at first 200, but work hard at getting them down to 110 or below).
I was told orange juice makes the blood sugars go high and held up too long. Some say the 50+ orange juice is better....never tried it, so I don't know. I think it is all trial and error.
It sounds like you are really working hard to improve your health and get your diabetes under control.....^5 to you :)
