LOL I know what you mean. It is kinda like the scale...your weigh this one and that on another. My take on that is....use one or the other. trying to prove one is wrong gets you no where.

The meter is a guide line, in reality our blood sugar changes every second so just use one. The only sure way is getting the Lab to do it and there again after they do....your reading will be different. All meters do that I am sure.

every meter will give you a different reading. many will vary, even if you have two of the same kind....it is basically, as Grannie says, just a guide line. Stick with one. What you can do, and I do this, take it with you to the doctor's have them test you since they have a different type meter that must be calibrated to almost perfect, and then you test so you can get an idea how much of a difference.

meters will also get old and the readings will be off somewhat more, my doctor has me test my meter against them every year and when the point spread goes too much, then time for a new meter.

Also you said Accu-Chek, if you have registered your meter with them they will send you a new one free, battery included, if your meter is older. I do that all the time. I have 2 one I carry with me and one for home.

Whew!! lol--Thanks so much for that clarification and advice. I was about to have a panic attack trying to figure that out. You all are "good for what ails me". : ) I had the second meter b/c I only get 50 strips a month thru insurance.
