Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
take care and good luck hun :)
With hypoglycemia it is important to not use just plain sugar to get the level up, as sugar will just spike it and then it will go back down. Better to use a combination of a bit of something sweet to get it up quick, and then something more substantial to keep it up longer. An orange is commonly used to get it up quick, a natural sugar that is mixed with the fiber of the fruit. Crackers, like whole wheat crackers. I keep these things handy when I'm out in case it happens while I'm out.
What do you normally eat for meals and snacks? and how active are you?
I think below 70 is considered below normal level. It does indicate a problem with the system's balance, which may progress to diabetes.
