IMO, best not to touch the stuff, but I think a little wine can be part of a balanced diet..
The compromise position: On nights where I wanted a glass of wine with dinner, no Met. This actually had no impact on GL at all. Excellent. But, one night at restaurant, I had a bourbon before dinner and red wine with dinner. Even without Met, I went low--54. Yikes.
So, for me. Red wine yes. Whiskey no.
