Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
as Jeremy said, this disease can be fickle and can progress
To overcome that i test my sugar before i go for walk. It helps me better control. Also i have been told that i worry too much about fainting and that is also called fear of hypoglycemia. It happens when we have an episode.
But the key is to keep going, you cannot really faint unless your sugar falls below 50.
Consult your doctor or dietician and dont give up exercise. Keep it up. You are not alone. :)
Hope that helps a little and if you're having lows talk to your doctor. If you're on metformin again you may need to try a lower dose or be off it completely if you're back to eating good and exercising.
I've had some really bad experiences before I was diagnosed and went through some of my worst feelings ever at that time. If you haven't already done it, go get an A1c done.
Whenever you get low, like what some people here are suggesting is to keep some candy or glucose tablets with you at ALL times. Just as a preventive measure against fainting, try to be on a lookout for these drops in levels.
I'm hoping the best for you and encourage you to drop by often.
