Diabetes Type 1 Support Group
Childhood","Childhood diabetes is when the pancreas in a child does not produce enough insulin on its own. In order to survive, insulin injections need to be incorporated as well as diet regulation. If your child is diagnosed with diabetes, find support and share your experiences here. Caring for a child with diabetes is challenging. We're here for you."

I'm having a really hard time with going back to school and getting used to the new routine so if I could have some extra support that would be great. Thanks.

You will be fine. Did you talk to a dietitian or your Dr. about it. It has only been 3 years since I was diagnosed at 64. The more you stress about it the higher those pesky numbers go up. What works for me might not work for you. I am just taking it one day at a time. That is all we can do. I stay away from soda, even the diet ones are not good for you or anyone. Just be gentle with yourself. The other day, I ate a hamburger with everything on it, 1/2 an order of fried onions and 1/2 an order of fries, a big handful of chocolate chips and I was still within the limit about 8.0 or 145 American. The next day all I had for breakfast was 1 medium bagel and cream cheese, coffee with milk only and I was way over 12.5 or 225 American. Go figure that one out. If you are on insulin be very careful of the lows. Those are dangerous. Hugs

I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...
