just saying hello hope to make may friends i have had diabetes for 20 years,have loss the sight in one eye andbelow knee ampution just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and how do they cope

Hello Lynne, welcome! I have a friend who has had kidney failure and her cousin donated a kidney to keep her going. She has also had two pancreas transplants. For the time being she is doing very well and has no further complications. She spends much time in the onlne diabetes groups helping her fellow diabetics. Many diabetics have questions for her about the transplants.

I have been very fortunate, living with type 1 for 64 years. I also help people on the diabetes websites. With my insulin pump I have stable control with few highs and lows. It is the high blood sugar that is usually responsible for complications.

Is your control stable now? With good control, a low A1c and no prolonged high blood sugar levels you may avoid amy more complications.
