Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Oscar is prone to upper respiratory infections. Do you think such an infection could have affected the interior of his mouth?
I don't know if it helps or not, but he has been diagnosed as diabetic four years ago.
It was tragic when we found out. We were away for about five days and when we returned he went from 22 pds to 12 pds!
We rushed him to the vet and discovered he had an upper respiratory infection. Since cats will not eat if they can not smell their food, he went starving! After a blood test, he was found to be highly diabetic.
We may not be able to afford a cleaning (nor do I know if Oscar can tolerate anesthetic due to his health), but hopefully I can get some sort of antibiotic or ointment.
Does anyone know of any good home remedies before I can get him to the vet?
I have been cleaning out his water bowl religiously as I hear that clean water is essential.
Also thinking about getting some aloe vera.
Also, does anyone know what is better? Hard or dry cat food?
They have "cat toothpaste" that tastes like tuna, chicken etc.
Have him lick it off your finger first to acquire a taste the slowly introduce a toothbrush.
