Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I've done my CPAs and got a good job. But i quit last month because I couldn't cope with all the pressure at work. And now am worried about money on top of everything else.
Then I'm struggling with everything from insomnia to some addictions I can't seem to get rid of.
And then there is just the sadness that is just... there. I don't know why it's there it just is.
Too much information? Am sorry, I just have a lot on my mind right now. Thanks for listening though.
I understand what you mean about not wanting to add another addiction to your life. Smoking is my only real vice, and it's very hard to quit, but I'm trying so hard right now. It's especially hard when you're stressed and anxious. Please try to be strong and resist harming yourself. I find being creative in some way to be very cathartic. Do you have any creative hobbies, or any you've ever thought of picking up?
I'm sorry to hear that you're going through such pain, too. I'm always here for support.
I can relate about the trying to quit smoking. I'm trying to stop viewing pornography. But I find myself turning tonite more and more when I'm feeling low.
I do in fact enjoy knitting. Yesterday I knit my first sock ever and it fit and I was so proud of myself and happy. It did come out looking a bit funny but it was fun. Yes, that made me happy.
Idk the best thing for you bc everyone is different. Listening to people on this site can be helpful
I've been reading a novel all day, so that's been a welcome distraction. And I also watch movies and series as I knit to distract myself. Thanks Gtb100

Over the time I’ve learned a bunch of skills to fight it off, but it’s not easy. I completely understand why you’d feel this way, because I felt the same. If you do begin to feel urges, don’t fall into them. Instead (and I talk from personal experience) stay around your family, don’t go lock yourself in your room. Distract yourself, do something you enjoy like riding a bike, playing with the dog/cat, read a book, draw, etc.
You’re stronger than these urges, and don’t give up! We all believe in you
