Who knows why we were chosen to become like this. Is genetic...the sins of the fathers. Will our sons be held responsible for our sins and become the same monsters as we are?
The world existed before we became and it will exist long after we have left. The stars will still shine and the moon will still light the waters of the ocean. Will our dust blow over the earth and rest among the flowers that wither and die also? Will our tears add one more drop of water in the ocean?
Who knows what will become of the footsteps we leave behind us. Perhaps they will remain forever, or perhaps they will simply blow away in the wind.

hugs hon. Some questions we are just not meant to know the answers to. One thing I do know is this...we leave many footsteps behind. When we are gone..someone is going to miss us and others will realize just how much they did love us. We impact lives everyday and we dont even know it half the time.

I think you pose the question that many of us are always thinking. Is it a scientific thing, like genetically was I destined to be more like my Mom than I ever wanted to be? Or is it a spiritual thing, like did God always have it in His grand plan for me to have to go through this suffering to teach me or someone else who watches me go through it some big lesson? The one thing I'm sure of is that there is no one person who can factually answer the question. Sure, everyone has their theories, their beliefs....but how do we know for sure which is the "right" one? We don't, and we never will. All I know is that I wake up every day and I know that I am the one who decides what that day will be. Nope, I don't always make the right choices, which are the days that lead me to the suffering I'm sure. But it sure feels great when I make the choice to be better wife, a better friend, a better daughter/sister/aunt/whatever. And of course there are always those things that throw the wrench into our happy plans.....someone betrays you, someone belittles you, someone ignores you. Or some tragedy happens beyond our control. Ahhh the grand scheme of life. Who can know the whys of it all? I know I don't, and I guess its sometimes comforting to know that I'm not the only one.

I think our footsteps are left with our loved ones memory. Funny, next week is our family reunion where we all get together and it brings back memories of those who lived 100 years ago. I have been working on a photo album of pictures I have over the last 100 years anyway. My grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, their children, my child and my grandchildren. Kinda hard to finish because of todays technology, all the new pictures are on computer. Anyway, it is for my future generations so they will know where they came from.

I don't know what happens to our bodies, except your explanation or question sounds nice. Anyway, the memory of my grandparents and their parents live with me, so I will make sure the others that come will know us too.

That is exactly how I view death. We are never really gone until the last one that knew us is gone from this earth too.
