Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am so sorry to hear how life is seeming to be falling apart around you. Medicine should be a last resort for healing your hurts. In fact, meds only bring on more problems, because they have side effects of some sort that you will have to eventually deal with. Cutting yourself is not the right cry for help. Crying out to God is the way to start asking for help. Do you have a Bible or have a means to getting one? You can get on the computer also and look up a website called "Bible Gateway" and Read the whole book of John. John 3:16 is one of the most well known verses all over the world. " For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son. That whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." If you put your trust in Jesus Christ, and ask him for forgiveness and you want to invite Him in to your life, He will take care of you and love you! You will never have to be afraid. He will protect you, care for you, love you.....I will be praying for you!
Please don't feel that you have to rush through the healing for the sake of the people around you. You don't need to. Be kind to yourself. Take all the time you need to slowly get well. You are loved and valued. For the time being, focus on taking baby steps daily. Try not to set too much goal at this point. Hope you will get to see a therapist soon. Meanwhile, hang in there and I'm praying for you. God bless.
