Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Now that I work with people on a daily basis, I have learned that normal is situational. Each person has their own version of normal. What they do every day, what their routines and rituals are - that is normal. It does not have to look the same as mine. I can be completely different, and still be normal. The important thing is functioning. Functioning in daily life. Moving forward.
Don't worry if you don't feel "normal"... it only matters to the kind of people you on't need in your life anyway.

And that worked for me.
It sounds like you have defined your new normal, and that it is working for you. This is GREAT!
Gentle hugs
I guess the point I was trying to get out was that like you said NORMAL is situational. Often times WE put unrealistic goals or expectations upon ourselves based on what people expect or we think they expect out of us. Then when we fail to reach those expectations we fall into depression and feeling of worthlessness. So I ask who dare put an expectation upon me now? I am done conforming with this world. I will go about my day to day life and get by the best I can, but I do not need anyone to tell my how to live or what to do.
I really see nothing in this life to get upset over anymore. My opinion is MINE and it will NOT change. I am not a person that can be molded any longer as I removed the power of pier pressure. I spent my entire pleasing people and one day a short while ago I realized that I gave up myself for the will of others. I say no more. The world is a ugly place. Every form of media around us does nothing but LIE. I say believe what you want, be what you want, and please no one but yourself and the ones you love. People will take advantage of you as that is what people do, but only if you allow them too.
I lost my entire family just like you. In 15 short months the 4 key people that were always in my life were gone. Then I saw true UGLY and GREED. My brothers Ex-wife extorted money from me after she claimed everything my brother had in name of their son and spent it upon herself. That was not enough though so she wanted part of my inheritance from my parents. When my mother died her brother and sister claimed her part of inheritance from their parents. I don't speak to any of them anymore. What all this did prove to me is there is no use worrying about material things at all as someone will take them away from you or someone you love after your gone.
I also feel this world has become sick with what is beauty! If you don't wear the right clothes, have the perfect body, teeth, breast size or penis size your ugly. Well I say to hell with all that shit. BEAUTY comes in all shapes and sizes and it starts in the heart!
DONT let people decide who you are!
Peace and have a good night! I am out until morning.
Sorry to hear about all the losses you’ve experienced in your life and how family members are handling the situations. You’re right, there is no reason to hold onto material things. We don’t take them with us when we die. Beauty does come in all shapes and sizes. You’re not alone in these thoughts and beliefs. I will be praying for you as I can only imagine the pain and grief you are experiencing with the losses (I’m assuming the 15 month period was recent. …even if not, we grieve until the day we die! So I will still pray for your grief).
