Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I don't believe in reincarnation though I know many do. That's just me though.
As lulu555 has said, there have been near death experiences but those by and large have happened to people after a horrid experience like a car wreck or severe illness, not depression. I've not heard of any that happend to someone that attempted to end their own life though that may have happened.
When I see all the evil that happens day to day, I sometimes wonder if that is what hell is like.
Another thing I believe is that it is not for us to dictate when our lives will end anymore than we asked to be brought into this world.
The risk of failing at a suicide attempt bears a great danger of not succeeding and ending up laying in a bed, immobile, unable to communicate yet your brain is fully functional. That would be far worse I believe, than any level of depression.
At least with depression, a person can reach out to folks here and maybe in their real world as well. Being in vegetative state would, IMO, really be hell on earth.
Good topic to bring up!!!!
On me as I was unconscious I saw all this White stuff and a man with a suit telling me to hurry up he was holding a gate open, then I came too. With paramedics asking me what I took,, I really believe I came close to dieng maybe even did but came back?
There's many books, internet sites, forumns/discussions, etc..
Dr Eben Alexander just wrote a book 'Proof of Heaven'; Dr Brian Weiss has books on regression/reincarnation..and there are countless others..
I believe we were here and we will return here - that our souls, the essense of our true selves, are immortal - that we inhabit physical bodies to venture thru this earthly domain much like we use cars to transport us to our destinations..
Unfortunately, I've read that suicide does not relieve us of our earthly struggles - we will have to go thru (again!) what we failed to got thru in our current life until we resolve/learn from our struggle..there's a book called 'Born Again..' by Walter Semkiw that has a suicide case..
Life is hard; it's designed to be for us to learn & grow..I struggle greatly & daily; but knowing that I might have to do this all over again somewhat contains my suicidal ideations..
heretic - you should write these down..
I don't believe in a heaven/hell either per se; both reside right here on earth..
Another part of me says - that after life is possible as I know there are many things which cannot be explained or proven including the ability to be in touch with someone who is thousands of miles away -- right here on the internet we feel in touch with people we cannot see or hear, and sense an emotion (vibratory tone) from email messages -- etc.
I think I have many times already
and made their lives almost unbearable, those people who move out where the wild animals live, and kill them off, so those same people can know live there, I can only hope that those people have it real hard and slow dying, and are never brought back to destroy this land again or any other. No one has ever seen heaven or been there and come back they all are lying and in a big way, and if you or any one else believes that they need a mental doctor, Raymond Moody is the biggest liar of them all, its all stupid dumbes.
