Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Knowing that, just stay focused on what you need to do to get out there on your own. Don't focus on his eccentric behavior or your mistrust to confide in her. Focus on everything YOU need to do.
Some people set aside 5-10 minutes a day to get frustrated/sad/mad then make a plan to let it go till the next sceduled time.
Some people write their frustrations and negative thoughts on a small piece of paper and stick it in a box. It's sort of like, ummmm.... placing your thoughts aside, seeing your negative thoughts as seperate from your other thoughts. Then, you make a choice not to think about those thoughts until you visit the box. I find it helpful to make a "positive thought" box, also.
Hope some of that helps or makes sense.

NAMI has local and regional offices throughout the US. Perhaps you could google NAMI in your area to see if they are offering a local support group that you could attend. I wish you the best of luck! hugs
