Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I just want to say that it's not your fault that life has thrown you a curve ball.
Things are probably not as bad as they seem. I would have just ignored them until I was ready to get moving. If they have a problem with, that's their problem and not yours.
You've probably mentioned this before but how did you shatter your arm?
and he doesnt have any money... he and i have been through this 1000 times and he just will not help
i cant tell you how close i am to selling my truck and computers and just taking off on foot, to see how far i can get away from this hell hole before i have to be primary caretaker for my dad next
course, i know i'll get everything sold and get 10 feet from the house before i get called back to take care of him for the next 20 years
i hate my "life"
thanks for the reply *hugs*
saying no isnt an option in my world
17 years ago i slipped and fell and put my left (formerly dominant) arm out to catch myself and both of the lower arm bones exploded...
they put a bunch of pins in it and got it vaguely arm-shaped again, and called it good... the problem is, all the bone chunks pinched the nerves in several spots, and theres nothing they can/will do about it
maybe someone can give you advice
all my dr would tell me was "get used to it"
It's kind of funny everyone has herd this joke. Hey doc it hurts when I do this, the doc replies then don't do that.
unfortunately its a hard habit to break
You want "the great one above(?)" to zap you with a lightning bolt because you tripped and fell, didn't get to play mini-golf and your dad bosses you around as when you were a child?
A better plan: If you know you are accident prone and don't manage well at all without an hour to acclimate - tell the person, it's going to take you an hour, plus travel time to meet them. If that's too inconvenient, it won't work out. When you do someone a favor, they a-c-c-o-m-o-d-a-t-e you.
If your father treats you like a ten year old, you might have to go to a huge amount of trouble to escape him, but I would do whatever I had to do to become independent. There is a way, probably not quick or easy, but there's a way. Snapping his fingers in your face, because he wants you to hook up basically a toy, after you've made a commitment, having "It's my house, you'll do what I tell you, when I tell you" isn't something to tolerate one minute longer than you have to -- It it's easier to just complain, but you're a grown man with options.
