Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Perhaps the most famous dress in the world is the beautiful wedding dress, designed by Alexander McQueen Co. Sadly Mr. McQueen committed suicide and did not live to see the dress being acclaimed throughout the world.
We weren't there and at various times he talked of how family illnesses and addressing his sexuality had caused stress and depression. From our vantage point, we see an immensely successful and creative man, and we are sad that he was not around to enjoy his tremendous success. . .

Unfortunately, art in every form is full of depression. Authors, actors, comedians, designers, painters...seems like a creative mind is more prone to depression somehow, or perhaps it's the other way around.
Whichever way it is, it's a tragedy. I like to think he's looking down, thinking what an awesome job Sarah Burton did, and smiling :)
