Does anyone else feel like their depression just comes in waves? Like for a week or month, you are just fine and happy, and then all of a sudden it is like your whole world is crumbling around you? That everything you thought you knew or loved or liked in this world holds no meaning to you anymore? Like someone has just stuck a vacuum cleaner into your heart and sucked out all the happiness? I just don't know what to do anymore... I'm drowning, and I don't know how to find my way back to the surface. I just see more and more water flowing over me and pushing me down farther and farther. I feel just so alone :'(

that is usually how my depression works most the time. I am usually happy and somewhat bubbly, but then there will be a period where i am just kinda dead inside. I usually snap out of it in time but when you are there its hard to not give into it. I think alot of mine is stress related. I try to keep my stress level balanced. My job i do is extremely stressful and my home life is as well, so i run at a pretty high level all the time. But some of the depression hits tend to come a couple days after something sends the stress over its normal peak. Once it is resolved its almost like a crash for me. Then there are also times where its just an "off" period. Best you can do is try to see what is causing it or if there is a trigger to it that you might be able to monitor or watch. Outside of that, therapy or antidepressants, or just shear will power is what will get you through it.

Yes my depression comes in waves for me. I have to find a focal point to keep me centered and find a reliable life jacket. I think this world holds for us things in which we are unable to see before us and in the midst of drowning sometimes we must simply learn to float and rely on knowing what is ahead is what is meant to be in our life even if we can't see what it is for us.

It sounds like the deepest part of my depression when I used to have the episodes. I am in remission today, and that is feeling great. I hope you will keep posting and sharing, because the more of us who post, the more we will all learn. We can get better if we do it together.
